Selectable Columns

Hello,
a general question. Is it possible to create a table with different columns and the user at the frontend can show and hide columns of that table with checkboxes for example. Reason is I have a table with to many columns for one table at the frontend.
For example: Title and location. or Title and Author or Title Title and Length and width.
