Custom URL doesn't work on ID that isn't displayed

I configured a "Link for Column" with a primary key to use as custom id (@ID).

The problem is that the key is not there in the URL at all unless I also configure it to display. Well, I don't want to show the primary key to the users.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Does it happen only with custom url or also with other options. You can try using URL option just to see if your data appears in the url.

I don't know, because I don't have a field with a URL, but it's an interesting and a valid question.
I temporarily modified the code so I can put "_internal_" in the heading and the field is skipped during display.
I am thinking that the more permanent changes would be to include all other "used" fields in the query and but mark them as non-displayable if they are not in the shown list of columns.
Thank you.

I'll take a look. But still you can test it even if you don't have a whole url in your cell. URL won't work, but you'll see what data does the aplication get. Than the URL option simply copies the data from your database into a href=

I have the same bug.

My workaround was to publish the column as the right most and adjust the widths of the columns to push it behind another layer.

austineggdonors.com/index.php?option=com_grid&gid=1&Itemid=67

The Donor ID is an assigned number, while the record id is hidden under the right column.

I tried that, but in my layout it was still geting squeezed in somehow. Also your layout is fixed width and mine is not.
A good work around though for some cases. Thanks.
