scroll search box showing 'product' column in db

Good Morning All. I have loaded Joomla 1.7 and the latest tools jx. My question is this; How can I have the search box scroll to show the contents of the 'product' column' in my database? I would like the user to see and scroll to choose the product. I am not a knowledgeable person regarding writing code so explanations have to be pretty specific. Thanks so much for any assistance that can be offered.
