Filtering with DATEs

I've got a database field in SQL DATE format, so the data is YYYY-MM-DD.

My users are going to want to do some basic filtering with that. Ideally I suppose the front-end advanced search filter for a DATE field would say:

"Between DATE1 and DATE 2"

...and the user would enter both dates to return all records between those dates. If Date 1 was left empty perhaps it would assume 'since the start of time' and if date 2 was left empty it would assume 'all future dates'

Is that kind of power something on the road-map for future versions?

AWESOME! Really looking forward to that.. My biggest wish-list item by a long way :-)
