Show number of records without displaying them

Hi,

I have a table which brings back data on a page. As this table is used on may pages and because information is pulled from a table containing 450,000 data items, my default setting is to display data after submit.

The problem this presents is that users may not think there is any data in the table because (0) records is shown below the search bar.

Is there a way to display the number of records without displaying all the records?
