Search through the URL still needs Submit clicked?

Hello,

I am trying to create a link that when clicked will search my table, based on the word in the link, and show me the results. I got it working to populate the Search box with my keyword, but it does not show the immediate results, rather it populates the search field and still requires the user to click the Submit button to get the actual results.

Here is my link setup: http://mysite/mypage?data_search=test

I am basically just using "?data_search=" and adding the word "test."

I think I am missing one extra piece to the URL to bypass the user from having to click the Submit button. Any thoughts on what I am missing?
